COOU Masters Degree Student Slumps, Dies While Playing Football Match
A Masters Degree Student of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Unversity (COOU) Slumped and died on Sunday while he was playing a football match.
The deceased identified as Ichaka was participating in a football match between COOUMSA and NAUMSA when he slumped and died on the spot.
Recall, last month a 200l Student of the same institution identified as Nzube Okafor, who was a student of Physiology Department popularly called Skima, also slumped on the field during a football match and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Young girl is finally getting medical help after living her entire life with two extra arms and fingers dangling from her chest.
Veronica Cominguez, 14, was born with the limbs and an oblong-shaped torso growing from her chest in Iligan City, Philippines. The extra parts – belonging to a parasitic twin which did not develop properly – have continued to grow with her. She even cleans her living ”twin” and cuts their finger nails for them.
But Veronica is now finally set to live a normal life after locals raised money and officials organised for her to fly to neighbouring Thailand for an operation.
Veronica said: ”When I was little, I thought it was just a foot. But as I grew up, it became bigger

Veronica’s mother, Flora Cominguez, said their family has a history of twins. She was not able to properly see a doctor during her pregnancy but said that she knew that it was twins. She even had a name for both of them
Unfortunately, the other baby did not fully develop.
Flora said that Veronica’s navel would always get wet because of the liquid that comes out of it. Sometimes, the discharge has blood on it. She added: ”The liquid that comes out of the opening smells bad, like human excretion.”
According to Veronica’s doctor, the extra limbs can be removed through a simple operation.
Dr. Beda Espineda, a pediatric surgeon at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center who also handles the medical case of Veronica, said: ”Most of these cases can be removed. Because, usually, the body structures involved are not vital. Most of them are just attached to the skin or bones. For surgeons, it is easy to remove.”
Veronica is now waiting to have her ”twin” who has become a parasite, removed as soon as possible. The local government office in her village, which has her under its welfare care system, said she is due to fly to Thailand in the coming weeks for the procedure.
A spokesman from the BaranG.ay council of Kabacsanan said last Friday (27/07): ”It has been arranged for Veronica to be operated on. and we hope that she will live a normal, healthy life after this.
”Life has not been easy for her but she’s a very sensible, clever and mature girl. She’s a wonderful pupil. Everyone is very pleased for her that she can soon have an operation.”

A commercial tricyclist (Keke NAPEP rider), Mr Abuchi Odoh and his wife, Ndidi, a trainee seamstress have been blessedwith an overwhelming joy after the woman gave birth to quintuplets on Thursday.
Mrs Odoh, 30, was delivered of the quintuplets, four males and one female, through caesarean surgey at God’s Mercy Maternity Home, Obiuno Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State. She said she was actually suspecting that it would not be a single birth because of how heavy she felt during the pregnancy.
According to Sunnewsonline, Prior to the birth of the quintuplets, she had had three girls delivered in single births and a set of triplets, all boys, though two of the boys later died, one year and three months after they were delivered.
Reporting on the outcome of the latest pregnancy, the husband, Mr Odoh, said he never bargained for quintuplets as he was still battling to feed his family, given his meagre income.
When he was told that his wife had given birth to five babies, 40-year-old Odoh, a native of Okparigbovoko Nsukka in Enugu State said that he wanted to run away from the responsibility of taking care of the five babies not because he did not appreciate the blessing but because he did not know where to start from to raise money to handle the crisis.
On his feelings about the mixed blessings, he said:
“I’m a Keke NAPEP rider. The keke is my own but it is very old. I never expected that my wife would deliver quintuplets. In fact, I was expecting one baby and that was my prayer.
I don’t have means to take care of one in addition to the number we have already let alone additional five babies at a go. I’m shocked.
This is over blessing. I wanted to run away yesterday but people held me back not because I am not happy for the gift of the babies but because I have nothing to take care of them.”
Odoh appealed to Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Anambra State governor, Dr Willie Obiano, his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, organizations and all public-spirited individuals to come to his rescue, saying, “because I’m now totally confused.”

The Ogun State Police arraigned a 50-year-old driver, Olusanya Peter, who allegedly drove a truck recklessly and killed a man, before an Ota Magistrates’ Court few days ago. Peter, who lives at No. 18 Oretunde St., Iyana-Ilogbo, Ota, Ogun, faced a three-count charge of manslaughter, reckless driving and damages.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused committed the offences on April 17, at about 4.30 p.m at Adeba, Idiroko road, Olorunda Village, Ota. Mustapha said that the accused drove a Mack truck with registration number AAA-666 XF, in dangerous manner that resulted in the death of one Daniel Faroyi, 25, and damaged a vehicle belonging to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC). He said that the offences contravened Sections 5, 6(1) and 17 of the Federal Highway Act, Cap. 135 of the Revised Laws of Federation, 2006.
